25/11/2013

I see gratitude commentaries in many places all across the world wide web. It's wonderful that people are systematically practicing gratitude. I try to as well but many times fatigue drives me to sleep without having counted my blessings. I know that I am surrounded by countless small and big mercies that enable me to plod on. Gratitude is something that should be pouring all the time from the deepest of my soul.

My list for today:

~ For the journeys to and from Panjim for IFFI-Goa 2013.
~ For the good company and conversation
~ To be able to see films (for the power of sight and mind)
~ For loving people who inquire after me
~ For the place I live in
~ For S who makes things easier for me
~ For everything

34 years of walking in this earth

I turned 34 on the 1st. The past year was fraught with diverse conditions that I hadn't imagined. But we were able to sail along with faith and hope. God has been good to us and I admit that the paths were passed with ease because of his presence and guidance.

Last birthday, I had hoped for a change in place and other things and lo! behold we went to a another place and what a place!

This birthday I spent with my mom and sister and that was more than I could ask for. I am thankful and grateful for the surprise of timing.

The lessons imparted by life are frustrating but on hindsight they have made me strong.

Cheers to life at 34!

The lovely sights and sounds

The past months has treated me to beautiful sights and wonderful sounds. I am grateful for the gift of hearing and the treat of sight. Without these senses, I wonder how life would've been.

I am also thankful for the good news of the interview which came on a bleak day. The timing was just perfect.

I love the fact that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. A beautiful truth to delight in.

For his glorious life . . .

Today my maternal grandfather, a month shy of his 84th birthday, passed on in the wee hours of the morning. I am grateful for the life he lived, places he visited and memories that made his being. He wasn't a perfect man but inspite of everything he holds a special place in all our hearts.

Another era is over and we're left without any grandparents.

May his soul rest in peace and we hope to meet him sometime in the future.

Praise God!

Joy always :)

Cheers to a life well-lived Thatha! We'll miss you.

Four months have passed

April is the cruelest month begins the masterpiece The Waste Land by Thomas Stearns Eliot but inspite of April being cruel, I'm thankful for everything.

As we begin the fifth month of 2013, I cannot but be thankful for the past months. The month of April especially was a tumultuous one but we survived and are marching on. I owe many thanks to many who were by our side during the last month:

K, S, GP, G and RC for their kind help and consideration.

To the staff of SMRC.

Divya, who was subjected to many of my mood tantrums.

Life goes on inspite of less sugar and salt.

We are more than conquerors!

Joy always :)

Post-office

For some time now, I was lamenting that there was no post-office in our Campus. I desperately wanted at least an extension counter of the PO to be opened. Imagine my joy when my husband told me that an PO extension counter has been opened in our campus.

Small things but I'm so grateful that it has finally materialised.

When the whole world celebrates the season of love, I am thankful for the greatest love that was bestowed upon me through the cross. Is there any greater love than that?

02/02/2013

The first month of the New Year passed by rather quickly with many new things learnt and old things unlearnt. I am wiser than yesterday and relatively innocent than tomorrow.

Building the pace in the new place step by step. The house is slowly turning into a home by adding piece by piece to the comfort of the house.

Met an old friend after a long time and also met two online friends for real.

The walks are regular building stamina and speed.

The cooking is getting enjoyable.

The online forum The Chennai Bloggers Club is growing in leaps and bounds.

Life is good.

I am so very grateful and blessed.

A lesson learnt

Today I learnt a very valuable lesson in my life and I'm grateful for that. Sometimes, one wonders . . .

Joy always :)

11 Jan. 2013

My first post in this brand new year! The last year was wonderful in many ways and I hope this year will also be better than the last year.

The word that I want to remember this year is 'aware.' I would like to be aware of my actions, words, thoughts and inner health. I'm grateful to Galen Pearl for sowing the seed of having a word for the year.

As always, the list of gratitude is a never-ending one. Today I am grateful for:

* The early waking. I seem to have earned an extra hour or so
* The lovely place where we live. It's wholesome in many ways
* Money - the fruit of the work of our hands
* People who appreciate the finer aspects. They have taken time to notice
* Hands - for always enabling something
* A full fridge - makes me feel overwhelmed
* Smiles - received and given
* Hugs - it always lights up my being
* Conversations - for helping me to assess myself
* Being alive - to witness another year and many moments

Joy always :)
